The overall goal for the Cool Neighbourhoods project is to create a digital twin about heatstress for the municipality of Middelburg. Later on it would be nice to create a full one for the province. Currently a project group is working on creating a pipeline of sorts to generate the heatstress map. The project is still far away from finished and there are some features that will need to be added:
- Adding costs and effects so that policy makers can use the digital twin to create plans for neighbourhoods
- Adding UHI map generation.
- Add a robust system to add more data sources so it becomes more future proof.
- Make generation of the current map quicker. It currently takes days for a full map. However, when you place an object/measure on the map it should show the change very almost instantly.
Of course much more can be done and added. So if you have any good ideas there is room for that.
